VS2005 (re)installation problem

When VS2005 fails to install, it's more often than not down to SQLExpress. You often get uninformative info – some from C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Setup Bootstrap\LOG

You can re-install SQLExpress from the
VS2005 DVD, it's in [driver]:\vs\wcu\SSE\sqlexpr32.exe. Running this
command causes the installer to run, and again it'll probably fail but this time you should get a much more meaningful message.

Japanese emoticons

Just found this full list of Japanese emoticons

So much more varied than you're usual english ones (eg 'I can't stand any more to be awake'). These differ from traditional ones in that they're viewed from a normal angle rather than from the side.

Current favourite is this one for dancing. Cute!

Back….

Yep – been a long time away, but back :-)

What's happened since I last blurted out an entry? Working in sunny
Crawley was a joy – the only saving grace was the company I was with
and the copious hotel expenses. Unfortunately it came at a price -
namely my waistline :-(

Anyhoooooooo….. Found a link (well, read Slashdot anyway) to a film
about a load of interns at a company that were given 12 weeks to
design, develop and market a product. From the trailer it looks as if
it's got a kind of 'geek charm' that could be fun to watch – if only to
get nostalgic about all the mistakes I've made in the past
