Well dip me in carrot juice….

…and throw me to the episodic psychopathic lagomorphs. Sam and Max has been resurrected at Telltale games.

Sam and Max was a comic then a Lucasarts game, back when Lucasarts didn't suck (a long, long time ago). It was one of those point and click adventure games not unlike Day Of The Tentacle or Curse Of Monkey Island. The humour was unmistakable and it's one of the few adventure games I replay occasionally thanks to ScummVM.

Lucasarts tried to do a sequel then canned it, to the annoyance of many. Now a rag-tag fleet of non-sucky ex-Lucasarts programmers has resurrected the license and completed the game. It's going to be episodic, as many games are nowadays, but if it means that we see Sam and Max sooner rather than later, all the better!

Flickr API article

A big 'well done' to my friend Sam for getting an article published on MSDN. He's the author of the Flickr.NET API Library at his WackyLabs site and knows more than many about the Flickr API. Yet another published author at BT :-)

Alternative PDF Reader

There's always been something that bugs me about Adobe products – they just seem so bloated. Adobe Acrobat takes forever to start up whilst loading plugins etc.

As an alternative, Foxit Software have produced Foxit Reader as an alternative. It's lightweight and has a minimal startup and running footprint.

Useful application

If you ever try to delete a file in use in Windows, it bitches tremendously after a 5 second delay. Quite often the message will be 'file is in use' or something equally helpful.

To get around this, Unlocker is available. This will tell you what application has locked the file and give you a chance to close the application or force an unlock on the file. Kudos to Cedrick Collomb – the software is free (as in beer) but you can donate if you want.
