Google have provided a series of TechTalks on the Theory and Practice of Cryptography. They’re excellent discussions outlining the basics of Crypto schemes.

Johnny Chung Lee has done some investigation into customising the Wiimote. The head tracking demo alone (shown below) is worth the watch. The effect you get as you walk around in front of the tv is spooky to say the least, with the tv view adjusting as you move.

Windows Server System Reference Architecture provides an excellent guide to setting up a network using Best Practices. It’s not just for the Microsoft products though, as it was written in conjunction with Cisco and other vendors. The network implementation in particular is excellent and takes you through the installation of an entire network and application infrastructure for a DataCentre.

The Handbook of Applied Cryptography is available here.  I’ve just noticed it’s freely available online. I sunk about £40 on it a few years back. Ah well – a hardcopy is always easier to read in front of the telly anyway
