A Day In The Life…

Portal is one of the best games to come out in recent years. Innovative gameplay, addictive and funny. Turrets play one of your main enemies. This is what they do when you’re not around, according to ‘The Leet World‘…

The weakest link…

Turns out the Barclays chairman had his identity stolen. D’oh!

From the article: “It was down to human error. Procedures were not followed fully and we have learned from it”. As the T -Shirt says: “Because there’s no Patch for User Stupidity”

Apparently Barclays have introduced a code word system for senior employees to protect them. Effectively they’ve taken out the human element since I’m assuming the system will ask for a couple of letters and won’t proceed unless they’re answered correctly. I’m just wondering what happens if someone says ‘I’ve forgotten, can you send me out a code word reset?’, followed by a mail intercept.

Walken 2008

“It’s time to get America back on track”

…and let’s face it, when it’s Christopher Walken saying it, you know he’s going to kick ass and take names.

Remember: Vote Walken – because the country needs more cowbell.

Get your Christopher Walken cutout mask from here and spread the word!

Diebold…with a vengeance

IANA (I am not American) but can’t help wondering when we’re going to be seeing devices like the Diebold voting machine over here in the UK. Want to hack one? Just follow the instructions below. What you put on the USB key is up to you, but offhand, Portable XP or a Linux boot key would be useful. Next, have a play with the MS Access database the votes are stored in.

Oh – was that a secret? Maybe an Open Source vote tallying system that was open, fair and accessible for scrutiny by the people (legally rather than through leaks) would be better than this.

When Diebold see security as an enhancement (citation) rather critical infrastructure then you know you’re onto a loser. Well, someone’s onto a winner, but I dread to think who it is.

Just add Screwdriver and boot USB

Other ‘Diebold’ posters are available here as well.
